Peter Yu

C.E., S.E., President

Peter Yu is registered in California as a Civil and Structural Engineer. He has over 21 years experience in structural analysis, design and project management with particular expertise in seismic analysis and design of mid-rise and high-rise construction, as well as extensive knowledge in construction methods and technology.

Mr. Yu is familiar with many types of structural systems, including state-of-the-art, energy dissipation systems, such as Base Isolation and Viscous Damper systems. He has also designed many structures with different construction materials, ranging from structural steel and concrete to timber. His “hands on” project involvement is the key to successful completion of many structures.

Fu-Lien (Henry) Chang

C.E., S.E., Sr. Principal

Fu-Lien Chang is a senior principal of STRUCTUS and is registered in California as a Civil and Structural Engineer. He has over 36 years of structural analysis, design and project management experience and has particular expertise in computer and seismic analyses. His “hands on” project involvement is the key to successful completion of many structures designed by STRUCTUS. Mr. Chang is very familiar with seismic evaluation and retrofit requirements, and has worked closely with the DSA and OSHPD for design and plan check services of many public schools, community colleges, and hospitals

Donald Chappell

C.E., S.E. Principal

Donald Chappell is a principal of STRUCTUS. He has over 45 years of experience and particular expertise in design of large, complex structures. Mr. Chappell provides constructibility review, quality control of construction documents and engineering consultation for all assignments. Mr. Chappell is familiar with many structural systems, including structural steel, reinforced concrete (shear walls and frames), concrete masonry, and wood structures. Mr. Chappell has actively participated in the structural engineering design of buildings and structures for public clients, including federal, state, and local government agencies, universities and schools.

Edward (Xiaoxuan) Qi

Ph.D., C.E., S.E., Sr. Principal

Edward Qi is a senior principal of STRUCTUS and is registered in California as a Civil and Structural Engineer. He has over 30 years of experience in structural and earthquake engineering for buildings and other structures, and has profound knowledge of structural behavior when subjecting to various loading and environmental conditions. His expertise includes structural analysis, design, detailing, construction, and project management for various types of projects.

Dr. Qi has experience in different kinds of structures, including high-rise buildings, corporation campuses, laboratories, aviation structures, pedestrian bridges, underground structures, etc., and is knowledgeable with different types of constructions and building materials. His experience also includes structural-soil interactions, deep foundation excavations, and applications of energy dissipation devices in structures.

Anh Trong Nguyen

C.E., S.E., Principal

Anh Trong Nguyen is a principal of STRUCTUS and is registered in California and Nevada as a Civil and Structural Engineer. He has over 18 years of structural analysis, design and project management experience, and has particular expertise in structural design of large scale complex buildings in high seismic zones.
